|Mark A. Sousa,
Mark Sousa was born and raised in the Boston, Massachusetts area. He moved to New Hampshire with his family and graduated from Nashua High School. After high school, Mark attended Plymouth State University where he excelled at football and baseball. After tryouts with several major league baseball teams, an injury sidelined his potential baseball career. While in rehab for his injury, Mark decided to leave college and pursue a career in law enforcement. After a successful career in law enforcement in both New Hampshire and Florida, Mark retired and due to his ongoing love of baseball, had the opportunity to work in Minor League Baseball with the Montreal Expos in Florida. Mark and his wife then decided to come back to NH to be closer to their families. While in Nashua, Mark was asked by the then Mayor Bernie Streeter to be on his staff as the city’s lobbyist where he eventually took over the city’s Transportation Department. Thus, the beginning of his transit career. Mark then pursued and was offered a position in Operations at GMT. After a short period of time, Mark was promoted to the Director of Operations and Maintenance, and soon after was promoted to the Assistant General Manager and is now the General Manager.
