Big things are coming, and they’re all about making it easier for our neighbors to get where they need to go. Starting Monday, August 25, riders in Chittenden, Washington, Franklin, and Grand Isle counties will see new routes, better schedules, and stronger connections between our communities.
Urban Service Changes – Chittenden County
Faster Trips in the Burlington Area
The #1 Williston Road and the newly redesigned #11 City Commuter (formerly the “Airport” route) will now work together to bring you a bus every 15 minutes between Downtown Burlington and South Burlington’s new City Center via Market Street. Each route will run every 30 minutes on the shared segment between Burlington and Dorset Street.
Please note: The #11 will no longer serve the front entrance of the University of Vermont Medical Center, and fares will apply to the entire route to simplify the system.
Back to Full Strength on Key Routes
The #2 Essex Junction, # 6 Shelburne, and #7 North Avenue will return to their 20-minute peak schedules after operating every 30 minutes during the summer.
One Seat, More Destinations: The Franklin County Commuter
The #56 Milton Commuter and the #96 St. Albans LINK are merging into the #96 Franklin County Commuter, providing a one-seat ride from Burlington to Milton and St. Albans—no transfers needed. This improvement directly benefits riders in Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle counties, making travel more seamless between communities.
Back to School, Back to Service
The Neighborhood Specials and other additional services will return with the start of the school year. These routes make it safer and easier for students to get to and from school, while reducing congestion around campuses.
