Burlington’s Independence Day Celebration 2025

On Thursday, July 3rd, Vermont’s biggest fireworks display returns to the Burlington Waterfront, featuring an evening full of family-friendly activities and a spectacular fireworks finale. With large crowds and limited downtown parking, Green Mountain Transit (GMT) is offering a convenient and affordable shuttle service to make your trip to the event easy and stress-free.

Avoid Downtown Traffic — Take the Shuttle

Parking near the Waterfront is extremely limited and expensive, and exiting after the show can take over an hour. To avoid the congestion, we encourage attendees to take our shuttle service to the Waterfront.

Shuttle Details:

• Date & Time: Thursday, July 3rd, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

• Last departure from UVM to the Waterfront: 8:30 PM

• Return service from the Waterfront to UVM begins at 10:00 PM

• Location: In front of UVM’s Patrick Gymnasium & 1 Main Street

• Please note: The shuttle will not stop to pick up/drop off passengers between these two locations

• Parking: Free parking is available at UVM’s Gutterson Fieldhouse garage and adjacent lots

• Fare: $2 round-trip per person

• Payment: Cash or credit/debit cards accepted only

• Please note: The Ride Ready by GMT mobile app, GMT smart cards, and school IDs are not accepted for shuttle payment

This shuttle is the fastest and most efficient way to reach the event and return afterward — no need to navigate downtown traffic or hunt for parking.
