Green Mountain Transit (GMT) is pleased to announce the opening of the Montpelier Transit Center located at 61 Taylor Street in Montpelier. On December 2, 2019, GMT will begin operating from the new facility.
The Montpelier Transit Center provides a beautiful and functional space in the heart of Montpelier, allowing for a better transit experience for our passengers. The transit center features a customer service space, a large lobby, an operator break space, and bathrooms. There is additional space to house a future vendor.
“GMT is excited that our passengers finally have the transit center they deserve.” Says Interim General Manager, Jon Moore. “The Montpelier Transit Center is a crucial component to improving the customer experience in Central Vermont. Passengers will be able to speak to a customer service representative to ask questions, purchase passes, and have a climate controlled waiting area.
GMT is pleased to announce the building is open. The building hours are 6AM-6PM, staff will be on-site 6AM-10AM and 2PM-6PM, bathrooms will only be available during staffed hours.
The Montpelier LINK Express route will continue to operate the current routing through Montpelier on State Street, and will serve the Montpelier Transit Center in the Summer of 2020.
