Your health matters, and GMT is here to help!
GMT operates a number of programs to assist Vermonters with access to medical trips, pharmacy visits, treatment centers, and other daily needs. Please see options below and contact GMT to learn more about eligibility and options in your area!
Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Program
GMT offers direct non-emergency critical care transportation for those who qualify. Critical care needs include ongoing radiation and dialysis treatments. Enrollment is limited, with services based on available funds.
Elders & Persons with Disabilities Transportation Program
GMT offers special transportation services through our Elders and Persons with Disabilities Transportation Program (E&D Program) for individuals within GMT service regions who are 60 years of age or older and/or individuals with disabilities. The E&D Program provides transportation for non-Medicaid medical appointments, meal sites, senior centers, shopping and pharmacy trips, radiation and dialysis treatment, and general daily needs. These services are made possible through the State of Vermont Elderly and Disabled grant. GMT works with human service agency partners to coordinate E&D trips together with Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) provided through Medicaid, contracted service with community organizations and institutions, and transportation for the general public.
Enrollment is limited, with services based on available funds. This service is door-to-door and supplements the regular transit service in the area, filling in gaps left by other transportation programs. Drivers can be paid or volunteers and depending on the rider’s needs, drive a variety of vehicles, from a transit bus with wheelchair access to a regular car.
Medicaid Transportation Program
Your health is important! GMT is a Medicaid transportation provider and coordinates transportation services to eligible individuals for medically necessary and approved trips.
