- Verify your account via email
- Create your mobile wallet
Make sure to create a unique password for your account. DO NOT use your UVM NetID password.

Activate passes anytime anywhere in seconds.

- Tap yes to activate your pass
You have three minutes to use your pass once it’s activated.


3. Ride
Simply, scan the barcode at the farebox and enjoy your ride.

All students, staff, and faculty, not including Sodexo personnel, visiting students and scholars not in Peoplesoft, and vendors, are eligible to ride GMT buses fare-free. To learn more about bus privileges at the University of Vermont, visit the CATcard Service Center.
University of Vermont students are enrolled in the program automatically at the start of their first semester at the university.
Eligible faculty and staff at the University of Vermont are required to opt in to the Unlimited Access Program with Transportation and Parking Services at the university.

Select “Sign Up”, complete the form using your UVM NetID email address, and tap “Register”.

A verification code will be sent to your email to confirm your account. Input the verification code sent to your email and tap “Verify.”

Once you’ve registered for an account, you will be asked to create a mobile wallet.
Before creating your wallet, confirm that your wallet type is set to University. If it is not, contact Transportation and Parking Services.
Please note: your mobile wallet is attached to your device and cannot be transferred to another device without first releasing it.

Please note: Only those without a smartphone will be able to use a physical CATcard to ride the bus, and only your most recent CATcard will work at the farebox.
Yes, eligible students, staff, and faculty can ride any Green Mountain Transit bus free of charge with their Ride Ready by GMT account or physical CATcard.
If you have already created an account, you should contact Transportation and Parking Services at the university to have your account added to the Unlimited Access Program.
If you are experiencing any trouble with the Ride Ready by GMT app or your CATcard onboard buses, you should contact Transportation and Parking Services at the university.
No, once enrolled in the Unlimited Access Program, the university will verify ongoing eligibility before the start of each semester.
Individuals using the Ride Ready by GMT app can pay for additional riders by adding stored value to their accounts and activating a regular fare pass for the additional rider.
Unfortunately, individuals using a CATcard cannot pay for additional riders.

To add stored value, go to “My Passes” and tap the add funds button at the bottom of the screen.

Input the amount of stored value you want to add by tapping the field labeled “Value to add” using your keyboard to input the amount and tapping continue.

Review your cart total before tapping Enter Credit Card and moving to check out.
Select save payment to make future checkouts even easier!

Input your payment information and complete the CAPTCHA prompt to submit your payment. A receipt of the transaction will be sent to your email.
Individuals with a CATcard should contact the CATcard Service Center to have a new card created. Individuals with the Ride Ready by GMT app should contact Transportation and Parking Services to have their mobile wallet transferred to a new device.
Individuals with the Ride Ready by GMT app should contact Transportation and Parking Services to have their mobile wallet released from their old phone for retrieval to their new device.

To retrieve a mobile wallet on your device, tap the menu icon in the upper left corner and select “My Wallets”.

Select the mobile wallet you want to attach to your device.

Tap “Retrieve” to attach the mobile wallet to your new device and begin using it.
Please note: If your mobile wallet is in use on a different device, you cannot attach it to your device without having it released first.
Your UVM Ride Ready by GMT account will be disabled upon graduation or exit from the university.
